Hola NOLA!

It has been a while since the last post, but we have had a very busy month of September. Lindsay and I both did some traveling for work, but still managed to squeeze in a "mini vacation". Every year my work group goes on a team building event. Last year we took a chartered boat offshore to fish for the day. This year we spent some time in the swamps of Louisiana. It was 3 days of fishing (fresh and salt), boating, frogging, great food and good company. The only company I was missing, was that of my wonderful wifey! As the rest of my co-workers headed back for Houston, Lindsay was arriving for a fun filled weekend in "Nawlins". With the weather a little rainy and wet, we headed for an indoor tour at the - Audubon Aquarium of the Americas. I love fish and had heard this aquarium was one of a kind. We enjoyed checking out all of the exhibits.
YIKES!!!!!
Here we are at Pat O'Brien's. The signature drink is the "Hurricane". I'm pretty sure that drink could power a car engine.
This is a boutique cigar rolling shop on Bourbon Street.
I took Lindsay to the Oak Alley Plantation. This is about 60 miles southwest of New Orleans.
This is the famous entrance to Oak Alley Plantation. The story is the owner had 14 even rows of 2 trees planted to form this grand entrance to the mansion he was building to impress the woman he hoped to make his wife - she did say yes!
Again.........
This tree is growing into the ground!
Size reference..........
Smile!
Hand Grenades..... delicious until the next morning.
What hand grenade drink would be complete, without an over sized walking grenade holding a tip jar.

We had a really good time in New Orleans, and look forward to our next "mini vacation".
