A summer is not a summer...

... Without a trip to the Frio River! Jeff and I made our annual trip to the Frio River (aka Garner State Park) the first weekend in June and the weather could not have been any better!

We arrived Thursday around noon and got in a fun afternoon float with part of the group - Jason, Kim and Matt. Please see the picture below of Jeff "sleeping" by 9:45 after our float! Party pooper!

Then on Friday almost the whole gang went for a float and the sun was out in major force! It totally got Kim and me. It is like we didn't put sunscreen on our chests or something! Not fun... By Friday night the whole gang was there!

And then we played a game called Moosey, Moose - and let's just say Burney was "lucky" - lol. After the game, we had our own dance party where Brittney and Kim entertained us by having a dance party on the table - let's just say the men at our nice neighbors cabin really enjoyed this night! Oh, and let's not forget the jello shots - located in the lower right corner! lolSaturday we had another great float and then we headed to see Vince Vance and the Valliants at the House Pasture Cattle company in the evening. Here are all of the girls (Brittney, Krystal, Kim, me and Burney) before the show with the little mariachi band! After watching the helicopter pass over us while we floated the river, we were excited to go see it so up close. The pilot was even nice enough to take our pictures and talk to us about his flying job. Sounds fun, but I think I'll stay on the ground - where there are doors and windows to keep me safe!

At dinner before the show, Brittney just "had" to have a picture with the famous Vince - so, he made sure we were always involved in the show! This was his opening act and Brittney had to hop up and help him sing! Then, he decided she had to have his matching hair style! Brittney loved the smell of his "cheap date hairspray"! Then, Krystal got to "pet his ducky"! This guy was crazy! And according to my mom, he was so cute back in the day - not so much these days... Matt captured this really awesome picture of Jeff and I dancing under the moon (away from the crazy Vince!)After we had enough of the band, the girls headed back to the cabin for our own dance party - this is just one of our many girl group shots! Love these girls! Take 2 - "See, what had happened was..." Jeremy blessed our neighbors by bringing his rock band - I say our neighbors, b/c these walls are paper thin and you can hear everything! This was one of the favorite late night activities we always had going, which is probably why the neighbors didn't care for it much! On Sunday, most of the gang headed back home except for Kim, Matt, Krystal, Ryan, Jason, Jeff and me. Since the water seemed to get lower and we all had enough sun, we headed to "The Park".

The boys found a nice fishing spot in the park - didn't have a whole lot of luck, but had a lot of nibbles!Back at the cabin on our last night, we finished up with another round of washers - check out the cool picture I caught by using the camera techniques Matt taught me - Jeff is giving you a thumbs up while Jason was running across in front of the camera. I only caught his leg, so he kinda looks like a ghost!

Now we are all back to reality and wishing we were back relaxing on the Frio - another wonderful river trip!
