First things First

Since the whole reason we wanted to start this blog was to let everyone know what was going on with the wedding, I think it is only appropriate to give the story of how we got to the wedding planning stage. The story: Once upon a time, a boy and a girl went on a cruise with the girl's family. It was going to be a wonderful vacation and celebration for the boy's recent college graduation and job offer. On July 2nd (the girl's best friends birthday), the ship was having it's first formal night. On formal night everyone dresses up and has the opportunity to take professional photos while they look all fancy. The boy had planned for he and the girl to go out and watch the sun set at the top of the boat before they took pictures. Unfortunately, the girl refused to go outside before the pictures were taken b/c the wind would totally destroy her hair. The boy didn't press the idea and waited until the pictures with her family were taken, until he could finally whisk her away outside. They didn't quite make it up to the top of the ship, but they did find a spot on the 5th floor balcony. As the sun was setting over the ocean, the boy began telling the girl all kinds of sweet things that made the girl smile so much her face began to hurt. The next thing took the girl by total surprise as he dropped to one knee... "It could only be better if you were my wife. So Lindsay, will you marry me?" The girl did not see this coming at all and even had to ask if he was serious?! Of course he was. He pulled out the ring and the girl watched in awe (hoping it would not fall into the ocean) as he placed it on her finger! The ring was lovely and she could not have asked for anything better. After enjoying their magic moment, the boy and girl went to find her family to share the wonderful news. Of course they already knew what was going on and they were ready to celebrate as they toasted to happy couple with Dom Perignon! They enjoyed the rest of the cruise sharing their exciting news with everyone on the ship before the wedding plans began. The end... Even though I didn't want to go up to the top deck, I think it happened for a reason. 5 has always been my number in sports and has always brought me good luck... so going out on the 5th floor balcony could not have been better in my opinion. You can see an action shot at the bottom of the page... can't you see why I didn't want to go out in the wind?! Also, I really was completely surprised. Of course I knew we would be engaged at some point, I just didn't know it would happen on the trip. This is a picture of us on the last night, close to the actual spot he proposed.
