Our DVR Dilemma

Every night in the Counseller home, there is a battle for TV watching "Dibs". Lindsay loves to watch her dramatic doctor shows and I like to watch the "Do It Yourself" network. Adult life has hit us like a ton of bricks, but we find ourselves reverting back to childhood phrases like; "I was here first" and "It's my turn". Lindsay has approximately 37 shows that she watches religiously every week. Our DVR box is working overtime to keep her up to speed on Gossip Girl, Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy, 90210, desperate houswives and I'm sure I have left some out. Besides finding these shows mind numbing, unrealistic, overly dramatic , and full of promiscuity and unfaithful spouses...... they fill up a DVR box very quickly. This really becomes a problem when an episode of "American Idol" (something we both like to watch) gets cut off mid- show because the DVR is full!!! Maybe we should lead more dramatic lives so she does not have to get her fill on TV?! It may be time for another DVR box in the Counseller Casa...........

What Jeff fails to mention is that every time I come home he is already watching DIY or HGTV (or playing x-box 360 - talk about childhood... hehe), so I think it is "My turn!" Also, there is no where near 37 shows - pretty sure the box couldn't hold that many shows! So, I love OPD, (other people's drama) there is no shame in my game!

Time for a new box or time for Jeff to watch his shows on another TV.....

P.S. Did he mention he watches A.I. without me?!? Not cool...

Ya'll are too funny! At least you have a DVR!! We don't even have one! And right now, Matt felt the need to hook up our new computer to the big screen so that he's got a huge computer monitor to use the computer on!! Talk about frustrating! I can't use the computer without him complaining about missing something on TV, and vice versa!! I feel ya'lls pain.... :)

The DVR debate occurs at our house, too. Casey says its filled with my "reality trash". Really isn't Cops considered the epitomy of reality trash and not Celebrity Rehab or Real Housewives of Orange County?

You need to send jeff to his "man cave"!!

That's hilarious. I made Jason watch The Bachelor monday night because we had too many things recording to where if i recorded the bachelor it'd cancel another show. When i finally got home from work I had to rewind all the way to the beginning... and Jason was yelling at the TV bc he couldnt believe some of the things he was seeing. haha :)

Can't wait to have dinner with you guys.. sent you an email with some dates!
