We finally have power!!! Whoop! Friday, Jeff and I went up to College Station for my brother's girlfriends Aggie Ring dunk... and when we returned on Saturday, the power was on! We are still enjoying being able to turn on the lights when we go into our air conditioned rooms!
As promised, here are some pictures from the disastrous Ike:
Saturday morning after the storm 1960 was a mess. Trees down all over the roads, power lines and signs.
No wonder we didn't have power...
So many canopies toppled over in the high winds... This picture is for my brother-in-law Jeremy. This is in your beloved Manuel's parking lot. I think it is still ok.
My dad woke up to find a pine tree resting on their house... no damage to the house!
This picture sums up my dad (a.k.a. MacGyver) and his resources during our time without power. He loves that little head light and of course his rum and coke in the mug!
The puppies knew where they needed to hang out - right by the window AC unit!
Sunday we tried to go get gas for the generator - this Exxon had a line for cars and those with cans. This line wraps all the way to the end of the fence! Such a mad house!
We also went to check on the lake house... as you can see below, we had to park on the street b/c the driveway was blocked with trees! However, no damage to the house or the trailer!
